December 13th at 5:30 p.m. - Monthly Meeting at the Library
We are going to be working on 2 things at this month's meeting - Project Shoe Box and Cookie Kick-off.
- Project Shoebox is a town-wide community services project that is performed by
Medway Girl Scout troop of all age levels just before the Christmas and Hanukah
holiday season. The project offers our Girl Scouts a wonderful opportunity to
experience the joy of giving by putting together small presents for our town’s elderly residents. There are now 164 seniors in Medway elderly housing, and this means so much to them all. The project consists of decorating shoeboxes and filling it with a variety of personal hygiene care products such as soaps, shampoo, toothpaste, comb and brush, body lotions, powder and other toiletries. It is also a great idea to include a small gift, game or craft that would be fun for a child who might come to visit the senior. Girls are encouraged to include a gift card as well. Please have your girls bring 2 items of this nature for the shoe box. We'll assemble the boxes together at our meeting.
- The popular cookie selling season is kicking off! We'll use our time together to talk with the girls about the cookie project, what it means and how it works. We'd also love to use the last 5-10 minutes of our meeting to share with each of you how it works and to give you the packet of information.
December 21st at 5:30 p.m.- Social Gathering: Christmas Lights at the Fatima Shrine
Let's take a walk together to view the beautiful Christmas lights at the Fatima Shrine located at 101 Summer Street in Holliston. Please let us know if you can make it so that we can keep an eye out for you before heading out on the walk!
January 7th from 9-11 a.m. - Cookie Sales at Charles River Bank
Our Troop has this time slot on this Saturday morning to sell cookies at the local bank. Should be a fun morning! We'll share more information as we get closer, but for now save the date on your calendars!
January 25th at 5:30 p.m. - Monthly Meeting at the Library
We should be back on this normal schedule (last Wednesday of the month) in January!
